Even in the original series, which was more adventure-oriented than what the series has evolved into, Dragon Ball has been recognised for some fairly amazing fights over the course of its three distinct seasons (forget GT for a moment). Gohan vs. Cell and Goku vs. Frieza come to mind immediately, but this series is home to many of the most recognisable battles in the genre.
It did a good job of balancing suspense and visually appealing elements, but several fights either don’t hold up over time or are just dreadful. In the same vein, certain series are mostly disregarded, whether it’s because they have less well-known characters or because many fans began with Z rather than Dragon Ball.
Why DBZ Fights are Overrated ?
Vegito Vs Super Buu –
One of those entries where the metamorphosis was way more interesting than the actual battle. Being one of the strongest beings in the universe, the union of Vegeta and Goku is wonderful. At first, it’s entertaining to watch them train Super Buu, who receives a hearty helping of humility. The problem is that there is never a competitive moment in the fight, and it is essentially simply a prelude to the real series finale, which pits Goku and Vegeta against Kid Buu. You kind of wish Vegito had been the trump card deployed to neutralise the danger given how strong he is.

Gotenks Vs Super Buu –
Your opinion of the humour that is sprinkled throughout the fight will determine how you feel about it. Some people might find this interaction with Buu amusing. Others view it as the best illustration of why the Buu saga was so terrible. The fact that Gotenks is among the most awful characters in existence makes this fight among the worst in the entire franchise. They should be silly given how old they are, but for a little second he stops battling to read the name of his upcoming strike.
Broly Vs Anyone – In all honesty, any Broly-related conflict may go on this list. Considering how one-note the character is, he is extremely overrated. Broly is as shallow as a puddle, despite the fact that Dragon Ball antagonists aren’t recognised for having much depth. He only uses a series of haymakers and screams during his battles, which aren’t much better either. That in and of itself isn’t all that horrible and provides for decent combat, but few people grade the character on that alone. He is regarded as a fantastic villain, which is one of the reasons he has already been in four films. The most recent movie at least gave him a little more depth.

Goku And Vegeta Vs Golden Form Frieza – Frieza’s return was welcome, but jabs were definitely missed. It’s lines like this one, where Frieza refers to Vegeta as “The Prince of Noone,” that really set him apart as a villain. Overall, the fight isn’t even that bad for what it is, but then you reach the conclusion. Everything seemed so pointless, depriving Vegeta of the accomplishment his character has been working towards since his debut. It was a smack in the face that Goku had to intervene yet again to save the day. Characters are stripped of triumphs they have achieved, which is a problem that Super as a whole struggles with (Trunks vs Zamasu).
